The Palestine Economic Developmemt Corporation is a non-profit 501(c)3 corporation organized under the Texas Development Corporation Act of 1979. PEDC was authorized by the Citizens of Palestine in May 1998.
The purpose of the Corporation is to assist in the maturity of the City of Palestine through community and economic development initiatives. In January of 2009, the PEDC Board of Directors and City Council officially adopted a strategic plan developed for our community by Angelou Economics as the focus of our program. The report identified several key areas of concentration for our work. The primary goals are downtown revitalization and retail development, marketing/tourism enhancement, workforce training and education, infrastructure development and the establishment of a comprehensive communications program. In addition, we work on business retention and expansion and industry recruitment. Our primary target industries are healthcare, logistics and distribution, tourism and energy/renewable energy.
We offer a variety of incentives and services to encourage new projects. If you are interested in learning more about what we can do to assist with business or project development, please visit our website or call our office at 903-729-4100.
