Support Services Division
Support Services encompasses several crucial elements within our department, which aid in the mission of overall public safety, including Communications, Records, Property and Evidence, Code Enforcement, Animal Control and Community Liaison.
The Division is headed by a Support Services Lieutenant, one Sergeant, one Corporal, one Dispatch Supervisor and seven dispatchers, one records clerk, one evidence technician, two animal control officers, one sworn Code Enforcement officer, along with a Civilian Code Enforcement Officer (who also holds a reserve police commission)
Support Services Commander - Gabriel Green
Lieutenant Gabriel Green currently serves as the Support Services Commander, responsible for supervision of Dispatch, Records, Code Enforcement, Animal Control, as well as the office of Community Liaison.
Lt. Green has been employed with the City of Palestine since February 2009, and has served as a Patrolman, Corporal and Sergeant in the Patrol Division. Honors received during his tenure on patrol include P.R.I.D.E Patrolman in 2011, as well as a Chief’s Commendation in 2013 for outstanding service.
Lt. Green currently holds an Advanced Peace Officer Certificate and is an active member of the Palestine SWAT team. He is a certified Field Training Officer and Certified Basic Instructor, teaching Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) and Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (C.R.A.S.E.).
Lt. Green is active in his community and has volunteered for many community programs, including Blankets and Bears, Toys for Tots, Child Safety Seat Education, and the Palestine Junior Police Academy. He also enjoys fitness activities in his off time and is active at the Palestine YMCA, currently training as a Les Mills group fitness instructor at the Palestine YMCA to help others achieve their fitness goals.
