Want to be a Police Officer with the Palestine Police Department?

Great! This page will guide you through the process to applying to take the Civil Service Exam, but first, go HERE to make sure that you meet the minimum requirements.  You can then check when the next test date will take place by going to the City of Palestine Employment page and scroll down to the Police Department Hiring Process. The next test date will be posted below the patch. If the date posted has already passed, then there is no tentative date for the next exam. As soon as a new test is scheduled, it will be posted on this page.

You have 3 options for filling out and turning in your Employment Application and Pre-Employment Inquiry Release which must be notarized.

Download the City of Palestine Employment Application by clicking HERE and the Pre-Employment Inquiry Release HERE.

If  you would like to email your application, then you will need an application to digitally sign the employment application. There are many free and paid options available, including  Adobe Acrobat Reader DC (free download) which you can download HERE.

OPTION 1: Once you complete and digitally sign the Employment Application, you must email it to the Civil Service Director, Lisa Cariker, at hrdirector@palestine-tx.org. You will NOT be allowed to take the exam without the notarized form. You may also email a copy of your DD214 and your TCOLE Certification, if applicable.

OPTION 2: After you complete and sign the Employment Application and the  Notarized Pre-Employment Inquiry Release, you can mail both to City Hall at Palestine City Hall, 504 N. Queen St., Palestine, TX 75801. (If applicable, please include a copy of your TCOLE certification and/or a copy of your DD214. **Copies must be received by the assigned deadline to be considered.)

OPTION 3: After you complete and sign the Employment Application and have the Pre-Employment Inquiry Release notarized, you can drop them off at the Palestine Police Department, 511 N. John St.,  Palestine, TX 75801.
