P.L.A.C.E. Team

The P.L.A.C.E. (Police Litter Animal Control Code Enforcement) Team originated in January of 2019. Together, the P.L.A.C.E. team systematically addresses issues violating city ordinances. 

Made up of two code enforcement officers, two animal control officers, a litter abatement officer, and a police officer, this team of six works to help keep Palestine residents comply under city code. 

P.L.A.C.E. Team Sergeant

Sgt Jeremy Jenkins

Sergeant (Sgt.) Jenkins has been with the Palestine Police Department since 2008 and is the P.L.A.C.E. Team supervisor. Since his start with the department, Sgt. Jenkins has served as patrol officer, patrol sergeant, and Support Services Sergeant. As supervisor for Support Services, he oversaw Dispatch, Records, Code Enforcement, Evidence Room, Animal Control, Fleet Management, Training, and Recruiting. Sergeant Jenkins is SWAT certified and served on the Palestine Police Department SWAT team from 2014 to 2016. Moreover, he holds certifications in FTO, Pepperball instructor, O.C. pepper spray instructor, TCOLE and C.R.A.S.E. instructor. Sgt Jenkins previous experience includes eight years in the Army and has been deployed three times, one in Afghanistan (OEF I), and three in Iraq (OIF I, OIF III, and OIF V).
